What are steel battens?
Steel battens are used as components to which various types of external roof cladding are attached. They are also used as a replacement for wooden battens when installing metal roofing tiles and trapezoidal sheets. They are typically manufactured from coated or galvanized steel sheet in thicknesses ranging from 0.5 to 0.7 mm, in grades S280 GD or S350 GD.
Application of steel battens
Steel battens are most often a replacement for traditionally used wooden battens. These products are used in the construction of pitched roofs. The battens are mounted to the rafters, where they act as a load-bearing element for the roofing material.
Steel battens are used primarily when covering a roof with metal roofing tiles or trapezoidal sheets.
